Wherever I wander, wherever I rove, the hills of the Highlands forever I love…
~ Robert Burns
The misty glens, the rugged mountains, the stunning lochs, magical forests and spectacular beaches. The freedom and presence that feels like home. This is where I TRULY BELONG! It is in this environment, that I want to create beautiful photographs of you that you will treasure forever! My passion is sharing and creating images that will leave a lasting impression and evoke a positive emotion for many years to come.
Hi I am Kristy, and I want to share my journey with you…
I was born and raised in rural Western Australia. A farm girl at heart I was always one to escape outside into the wilderness to dream. It has been my sanctuary. Being close to nature helps me breathe and clears my mind.
After travelling for a few years I settled in Scotland. It was during a difficult period in my life that I picked up a camera to ‘escape creatively’ into my sanctuary. In doing so I discovered a whole new world. The drama and romance of Scotland took my breath away. The seasons, the colours, the wind, the rain… it all connected me to lost priorities and helped me heal. I realised that what I wanted to do with my life… was right in front of me.
Capturing the beauty of this landscape led me to meet my partner Richard. Together (with our dog Bella) we spend our life ‘painting pictures’ for people who also feel that connection. Images that inspire and evoke emotion. Scotland is beautiful and we want to share it with you.
The Highlands have always been a place of inspiration for me and I have been fortunate to live in Scotland for over 20 years. A proud Yorkshireman, I was born in Leeds and grew up in the Military. I thrived in the mountains.. it is my element and here I can breathe. I met Kristy in Glencoe and found my soulmate. The mountains saved us and became our spiritual and creative home.
Together we chase the light, share the same appreciation of nature and see the same stories in the landscape.. sometimes I even know what ‘Whimsical’ actually means! I love to see the emotion.. the reaction of the people we meet as they experience, for themselves the real romance and beauty of the Scottish landscape... to be part of the drama and see exactly why we love and appreciate what we do.
It is a privilege to be able to ‘hang out with friends’ in this place that we have so much to be thankful for... and now call home.
‘Take only memories, leave only footprints’
Scotland is unique and its landscape is precious. The laws allow freedom to roam through some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. We all have a responsibility to safeguard this privilege, so that the beauty of the country can be preserved and continue to be enjoyed by all.
As photographers, it is important to us that we understand our obligations, act responsibly and respect the land that we are fortunate to work in. To minimise our impact on the environment whilst on our shoots, we only have the cameras around our necks and a reflector to utilise the natural light. We are very aware of our responsibilities under the access code and always extremely sensitive to rural activities and the interests of the landowner, on all the properties that we visit.
